Potato is the ingredient for many food products. While making the product, starchy liquid, a byproduct, must be drained out to keep the product’s tastiness. Though a byproduct of the manufacturing process, the starchy liquid makes a good fertilizer. The biggest Danish potato factory was looking for pumps to transport the excess potato waste juice to a fertilizer pond 1.5km away for agricultural use. To pump the liquid to the pond, the pumps must be able to extract 2.2 m³/min at 20m head. 4 HCP PUMP AF series submersible pumps–2.2kW 80AFU42.2 and 15kW 100(150)AFE415 are installed. The 100(150)AFE415 can reach a maximum of 3.6m³/min at 36m head. The vortex impeller allows slurry and long fibrous liquid passage while the channel impeller enables the passage of large solids. Together, the pumps help the factory to operate efficiently for uninterrupted production.
