◎ Description:

The Miaoli County Water Resources Department in Taiwan aims to stabilize its local irrigation water supply and lower the demand for groundwater through the Tongsiao Creek hyporheic flow project. The government plans to build underflow facilities in the midstream and upstream of the river branches of the Tongsiao Creek. Along the many tributaries of the Tongsiao Creek, the Nanshih creek has an advantage for accessing the underflow water, making the creek a perfect location for the underflow facilities. These facilities are estimated to supply a total of 3,000 metric tons of water per day (CMD), which translates into 1.09 million metric tons of water per year, to their neighboring farmlands. The reservoir in the facilities adopted HCP pumps for supplying water: 2 sets of HCP 80(100)AFE43.7 Sewage pumps, 14 sets of 150HD215, and 6 sets of 150BD222 dewatering pumps. The reservoir stores around 94,000 tons of water that served as a plan B water supply for irrigation in the surrounding farmlands during drought season. The capacities of the HCP pumps are 60m3/hr for 1 AFE series pump, 90m3/hr for 1 HD series pump, and 120m3/hr for 1 BD series pump. During times of need, HCP pumps will discharge a total of 2,100 m3 of water per hour to quench the thirst for agricultural irrigation.

150HD215 - submersible dewatering pump has won 29th Taiwan Excellence Award!
