Sewer Improvement Project in Annan District, Tainan City, Taiwan

◎ Description：

The Annan District, which is the second-largest district in Tainan City Taiwan, was prone to flooding caused by the defect of the river embankment design during the heavy rains. The government has invested 60 million NTD for the project, which including new culvert boxes built to connect the existing drainages system in the community, to solve the flooding issue caused by insufficient draining during the flooding season. Under the planning of the government and use the concept of upstream diversion, box culverts were added to achieve smooth drainage. This case uses LA Submersible Axial Flow Pumps, and a total of 6 units are installed (2 units LA-2250 and 4 units LA-28100). The HCP LA pumps mainly installed in the expansion water collecting wells, strengthen the drainage function of the community to avoid excessively high drainage water levels of the Yanshuei River.

This project has been done by April 2021, and it improves the flood issue effectively in the flood season.
