Algal Technology for Swine Wastewater Treatment in Pig Farm, Taiwan

◎ Models Installed:AF Series-Submersible Sewage / Wastewater Pumps

F/FN Series - Submersible Sewage / Effluent Pumps

◎ Description:

Pig farming is an important livestock industry in Taiwan. However the wastewater from pig farms contains high concentrations of organic matter and nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. Therefore swine wastewater treatment is important concerning for environment protection.
The client established a thousand-tons scale pig farming wastewater circular economy demonstration plant. The pig excrement was separated from the solid and liquid first, with effective removal 90% of COD from the wastewater in liquid part adopts the algae wastewater treatment technology. High-concentration organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, and other components are removed, its resulting algae are used as feed for aquaculture, which can meet the water release standards of Taiwan's Environmental Protection Agency. The solid part uses the biogas fermented from excrement to generate electricity. The biogas power generation demonstration area can produce around 5,000 kWh of electricity per day, which can achieve the maximum efficiency of resource recycling.
The AF and F/FN sewage pumps were used for the transportation of pig-farming sewage. With U type vortex non-clogged design impeller, is suitable for sewage and wastewater containing solid or fibrous substances. To pump and pass though smoothly and maximize the drainage function and effectively in sewage and wastewater treatment.
